The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), located in North Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a full-time Physician (Psychiatrist) to work in Geriatrics and Mental Health Services. The Psychiatrist provides a broad spectrum of psychiatric treatment and will serve as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team in managing an inpatient/outpatient panel. The primary duties of the Psychiatrist include: - Psychiatric assessment; - Psychiatric diagnosis; - Psychiatric treatment planning; - Psychiatric treatment to mentally ill veterans, recruits, students, active duty personnel, dependents, retirees; - Medication Management; - Consultation to the Navy Brig upon request; - Completion of fitness for duty evaluations for all active duty personnel psychiatric assessment; - Psychiatry resident education/teaching activities; - Participation in Physician Peer Review; - Participation in Performance Improvement activities; - Participation in FHCC committees as assigned; and - Participation in research.
