Overview Unit 32 is a 16 bed unit that has a mix of many challenging patients who struggle managing their lives in the community. Staff members work together as a team to provide care for these patients in a safe, therapeutic, environment. About this position:
The Psych Associate works under the delegation of the RN and is responsible for the delivery of patient care while promoting a therapeutic environment. The unit team consists of one attending Psychiatrist; two social workers; an occupational therapist; RN's, psych associates, and health unit coordinator. Psych Associates report to the Nurse Manager. Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, crouching/stooping, push/pull, finger dexterity, speaking, hearing, and visual. Mental Demands: Frequent contact with people, irregular work schedule, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, ability to work independently, multitasking, concentration, organizational skills, and working with others. Physical Environment: Noise, infectious disease, moving machinery, fumes/gasses, human tissue/fluids, radiation, chemicals, telephone usage, biohazard material,and working inside.
