LPN

Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN is looking for an LPN to join our Emergency Department. Fairview Lakes Medical Center provides award-winning care to the communities northeast of the Twin Cities. We are a Level IV trauma center, providing life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day. Specialty services are available on-site in heart care, cancer care, childbirth, orthopedics, pediatrics and more.

Emergency Services:

• 24 beds: 3 teams; Team A - 8 rooms, Team B - 8 rooms and Team C - 7 rooms.
• The trauma room stands alone, Team Nursing model
• Multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.
• LPNs must be BLS certified.
• Care delivery team: Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians, RNs, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Psych Associates, 4 patients per RN.

The scope of practice extends from a patients entry into the emergency room and continues from triage through discharge. Care is centered on patients and families experiencing acute or chronic, actual or potential physical or psychosocial problems. Unique to emergency nursing are processes that require resuscitation and/or stabilization.

Position details:

• .2 FTE or 16 hours every two weeks; day/evening
• 8 hour shifts working every other weekend (Sa/Su) from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm
• This position is located in Wyoming, MN

The LPN performs delegated nursing and medical functions of data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients, or individualized patient. The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, or physician/authorized practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The LPN is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.

Required

• Current MN LPN License
• Current BLS certification
• One year work experience in LPN position

Preferred

• Previous ambulatory care experience
