Overview Adult Mental Health Units Capacity varies from 14 to 17 beds Average Length of Stay ~ 7-14 days (fluctuates due to individual patient needs) All units are locked and led by A Psychiatrist, or a APRN CNP, who works under a Psychiatrist. The team also consists of Medical Director, various, Nursing staff includes Nurse Manager, RNs, Psych Associates, Recreational Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Music Therapist, Art Therapist, CTCs (social workers), and Spiritual Care Specialist. Other specialties utilized based upon individual patient needs. Patients admitted to this unit or any of the adult mental health unit must meet medical necessity and criteria to be hospitalized. They are considered a danger to self and/or others and in need of mental health treatment. Patients can be on this unit on a voluntary basis or on a mental health civil commitment. Staff treat the patient until they are stable and refer them onto the next level of care. Clinical Treatment Coordinator will partner with the Physician and interdisciplinary team to navigate the patient/family through treatment episode, including assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning and community re-entry. This includes, but is not limited to: managing patient/family expectations, responding to the crisis of hospitalization, supporting the discharge and community re-entry needs and monitoring and managing patient length of stay and avoidable days.
